In addition to the oceanfront parks listed below, the city of Cocoa Beach also provides "stub-end" streets for access to the Atlantic Ocean. Each street has a dune to crossover, parking spaces (several metered), and a litter barrel. You are invited to use any of these streets to enjoy a day on our fine, sandy beach. However, we ask that you do not bring bottles or pets on the beach, and please remember to use litter barrels when you leave.
Oceanfront Parks & Beach Access
ALAN SHEPARD PARK - Located at the east end of State Road 520
Shepard Park is a two-acre, oceanfront park providing picnic, shower, and restroom facilities for guests. The park was named after astronaut Alan Shepard and provides an excellent view of space launches. Facilities include 10 large picnic pavilions, several smaller covered picnic tables, barbecue grills, and a bathhouse. More than 300 parking spaces are available for automobiles, recreational vehicles, and tour buses. The parking fee is $3 for cars, $5 for RVs, and $10 for buses.
SIDNEY FISCHER PARK - Located in the 2100 block of State Road A1A.
A 10-acre, oceanfront park, Fischer is a family favorite. The park is ideal for a picnic and a swim in the Atlantic. About 200 parking spaces, picnic pavilions, and recently renovated shower and restroom facilities are provided. The park was named after Sidney Fischer, who served as the mayor of Cocoa Beach from 1956 to 1960. The parking fee is $3 for cars, $5 for RVs, and $10 for buses. (321) 868-3274
LORI WILSON PARK - Located at 1500 N. Atlantic Ave.
This 32.5-acre, oceanfront park is operated by Brevard County and has seasonal lifeguards. Facilities include restrooms, three pavilions along a 1,000' boardwalk, six dune crossovers, maritime hammock, volleyball court, a playground, barbecue grills, and a 274-space parking lot conveniently located on both the north and south sides of the park. ROBERT P. MURKSHE MEMORIAL PARK
State Road A1A and 16th St. South. This two-acre, oceanfront park, operated by Brevard County, offers a boardwalk, parking, restrooms, picnic and shower facilities. The park is named after Robert P. Murkshe, who served as Cocoa Beach mayor from 1963 to 1972. (321) 455-1380
Cape Canaveral Beach Parks
JETTY PARK - Located at 400 E. Jetty Rd., Cape Canaveral
Campsites, general store, concession stand, soda machines, restrooms, showers, picnic areas, barbecue grills, pavilions, playground, bike path, and seasonal lifeguards make this park a favorite of visitors. A newly renovated boardwalk along the jetty allows for great fishing and views of the cruise ships entering and leaving the port. It's also an excellent site to view shuttle launches. CHERIE DOWN PARK - 8492 Ridgewood Ave. in Cape Canaveral
Preserving sand dunes and sea grasses, this scenic 6.99 acre community beach park in a neighborhood setting invites beach activities and surf fishing. Amenities include restrooms, showers, a small pavilion, a dune crossover and two sheltered picnic areas at either end of a 320' boardwalk along the dunes. Parking is $1 for cars, $10 for buses.
